The AMS initiative will begin in Ontario and gradually expand nationally. The initial focus will be medicine and nursing with expansion to rehabilitation sciences and other healthcare providers. The initiative will begin in larger academic health science centres with the eventual inclusion of other universities, colleges, community hospitals, and other organizations that participate in significant health education activities.

The AMS gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Ontario
Ministry of Health and Long‐Term Care for Stage 1 activities . This
support was key in launching the series of workshops and summits held in
2001 that helped shape and kick start the AMS Phoenix Project. |
